Extra Information

  • Hospitality

The Watermill Pub & Restaurant (1999-2000) During my latter school days I worked as a waiter/barman within this family environment. My role consisted of general waiter activities, delivering food/drink to customer’s tables, ensuring their experience at the restaurant was enjoyable as possible. My work behind the bar required me to interact with the customers socially and professionally providing them with a comfortable environment to have fun.

  • Leafleting

The Dirty Disco 2005-2007) My promotional work within the Leeds nightlife scene involved handing out leaflets and fliers on a number of occasions for the monthly night The Dirty Disco.

  • Merchandising

Nestle (March 2007-April 2008) During my role as Territory Sales Executive a key factor was positioning on the fixture within the local retailers shop. Merchandising to catch the consumers eye was extremely important as confectionary is likely to bought on impulse. Working in such a competitive market with the likes of Mars and Cadburys, I had to be forward thinking to make sure I had the best possible positions and stood out to catch the eye of the consumer.

  • Presenting

ETM Marketing (2005) 'Talk Talk' door to door sales During my field sales role for ETM Marketing presenting my pitch was the the most important aspect of the job. Potential customers would tend to buy from the individual person rather then the actual product. It was important to always be friendly and clear when delivering my pitch, highlighting all the benefits. Appearence was also a key factor, by looking smart and respectable it gave me more credibility and confidence to close the sales.

  • Sales

ETM Marketing (2005) I worked as a field representative selling ‘talk-talk’ on a door to door basis. It was important to organise my time efficiently, the key to success was self motivation. I enjoyed meeting different people from many social backgrounds.

  • Van Sales

Nestle (March 2007 – April 2008) During this period my role as a Territory Sales Executive involved local account management in the retail confectionary market. My responsibilities included direct sales, promotional marketing and general customer service. Individual and team targets were established allowing clear goals to be set. In such a competitive market it was essential a good relationship with the local retailer had been established to allow development and sales.
