Overview of Role
Actor required for 12month contract as the face of Captain Morgan Brand in the
UK. To undertake various media roles at live events, partaking in PR stunts, talking to the
press and generating as much visibility for the brand as possible. For example: "At the
Publican Awards (award show for the on-trade alcohol industry) the Captain hijacked the
stage and presented an award, he then spoke to the media to generate interest and draw
attention in the brand".
Scope of work: 10-12 appearances a year, depending on event hijack opportunities and
the execution of the role
Full Job Overview:
• The actor will portray the character “Captain Morgan,” in personal appearances as
required by Diageo.
• This role will be as the UK “Captain Morgan”. The purposes of such appearances
include, but are not limited to, furthering Diageos goodwill, promoting the brand
image of “Captain Morgan,” the Captain Morgan product, public relations
activities, sales activities, Company-sponsored events, trade shows, festivals etc
and interacting with the public during such appearances.
• The actor will render assistance in the development of social media and public
relations content, including but not limited to posing for photographs and filming,
and participating in the creation of such content.
• The actor will appear as the brand spokesperson (Captain Morgan) at company
events including but not limited to meetings, conferences and workshops, including
meetings where the actor will appear in uniform as Captain Morgan.
• The actor will render assistance in the training of local Captain Morgan talent in
markets throughout UK.
Terms:
• A full day Assignment will be up to ten (10) hours. Diageo may schedule an
Assignment with four (4) weeks notice. The actor should also agree to be available
on shorter notice when possible. Diageo may re-schedule an Assignment, or cancel
an Assignment, by giving not less than five (5) business days’ prior notice.
• During the 12month term, the actor would be permitted to undertake other nonbranded
related roles (cannot work with other brands, but can take theatre work)
however any external work must not be superseded by the Diageo commitments.
Salary:
• Starting point £650 for a full days rate up to 10 hours. (Negotiable depending on
the quality and experience of the actor)
• Down time compensation if the actor is spending a full day in training by Diageo; or
if time is spent on a full day travelling for Diageo to or from an Assignment. (To be
negotiated depending on the actors qualifications)

• Full media training to prepare the actor for meeting the press and handling
difficult questions- such as “what is your attitude towards binge or underage
drinking” or “where do you stand on abortion” etc. Media training enables the
actor to answer the journalists in the right way as per Diageo guidelines
