Mash Marketing – Thorntons Event Manager. September 2008 – October 2008
I managed a team of 19 staff for Thorntons Chocolate / London Fashion Week.
Each day I held team meetings, prepping every staff member with individual targets.
My responsibilities included 19 branded bikes, uniforms, the distribution of the product to staff, stock checking at the end of every day, regular mystery checks, photos of each event location, daily reports and feedback and paramount was the overall safety of my staff.
Mash / TRO – Samsung Omnia Event Manager. November 2008
This campaign was spread over 4 weekends in the month of November, locations included; Microsoft HQ, Reading, Westfield London and Bristol.
I managed a team of 4 girls; whose role was to demonstrate the new Samsung Omnia phone to a target consumer market. As well as demonstrating the phone we also ran a competition for consumers to win a phone at each location we visited. Footfall was high at every event, this meant keeping my team motivated and focused. The client was pleased with the increase of phone sales in each location and the consistency of the teams over all performance.
Evoke – French Connection Event Manager. November 2008
This was the launch of the new winter collection. Prior to the event my assistant EM and I had to dress the store with various chairs, cushions and plants, which we transported in a van. I had 3 staff members serving various drinks, including wine and cobra beer to the guests attending the event.
In total we ran 5 events at stores including: Brighton, Regents Street, Westfield, Covent Garden and finally Kings Rd Chelsea.
The Network – The Evening Standard Area Manager. April 1st - October 12th 2009
Back in April The Evening Standard launched its newly re-branded newspaper. My role on this campaign was to manage 9 team leaders and 45 staff selling the Evening Standard at the promotional rate of 10p, across nine stations in London. These stations were; Kings Cross, Liverpool St, Euston, Paddington, London Bridge, Waterloo, Victoria, Charing Cross, and Marylebone.
My roles included:
Liaising with the client on a daily basis and discussing the night’s activities (staff performances, overall sales, potential for increase in distribution and any general problems).
Nightly campaign reports (Sales figures, staff performances, problems etc.).
Keeping the staff motivated and focused on the campaign.
After 5 months of brand impacting and sales the paper then made the decision to go free, filling in the gap for the London Paper, which ceased distribution.
