I have been an Events Manager for a charity for the past 3 years and have much experience in organising events from conception to completion, including ideas development, promotion, marketing, sales, advertising, setting up of equipment, planning and research, recruiting and coordinating other staff and volunteers etc. I have organised events such as Firewalking/Bonfire Night Spectacular at Nottingham Castle, Abseiling, Dragon Boat Racing and parties.

I have undertaken auditing skills during my degree and also during my job as Events Manager.

I have had to organise and manage many volunteers and staff at my events making sure all parties have been well briefed beforehand and know exactly what their roles are.

I have had to promote our charity and its fundraising events at certain events indoors and outdoors, including the setting up and dismantling of equipment and engaging with the public.

I have previously worked in Hospitality for a few years, in cafes and bars and also a hotel so am used to the environment and the kind of work it entails. I also worked on a Cooperative promotion where I had to assist a TV Chef with his demonstrations.

Most recent job was for Nuts Magazine at Donington Services where we had to approach young men with leaflets encouraging them to buy the magazine. I have also done leafletling work for Virgin Active Gyms, Disney on Ice and various other campaigns, including strategic leafleting where locations for targeting the public had not been determined. I have also organised and undertaken big leafleting campaigns for all of my events.

I deal with sales on a day to day basis trying to sign potential participants up for fundraising events. This is generally face-to-face.

Most recent job was for Rice Krispie Squares (Mash Marketing) handing out new products at a large shopping centre over a 3 day period. As previously mentioned I also worked at a new Co-operative Superstore opening where I worked alongside an ex-tv chef helping him prepare food, display it and hand out to the public explaining how it was made.

I took Drama at A-level and GCSE level, so have experience of performing there. I have also done some Film Extra work, the most recent for the film: Bunny and the Bull

I worked in a bar for a few months, but was many years ago! I´m sure the skills would be easy to pick up again!

I am a Graphic Designer so am experienced in most up to date industry standard Creative Packages, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive etc. I am also proficient in Microsoft Office.

I have done face painting at some of my fundraising events and am very creative and artistic. I find the face-painting templates very easy to follow.

I took my First Aid certificate at work in 2008.

I have experience in Public Speaking through my job for the charity where I have had to speak at fundraising dinners, presentations, to community groups etc.

I used to be great at Roller Skating and sure I still am!! I have never tried Roller-blading but am sure I could pick it up quickly. I have a good centre of balance from surfing and skateboarding.
